Doctor Who: The Alhambra Podcast

The Doctor Who Alhambra Podcast: discussing, debating Doctor Who, science fiction and fantasy series. We react to Doctor Who and Big Finish productions, on-line forums. Also, we'll occasional focus on audio of classic Doctor Who stories, ignoring the special effects, to find out if the story is as strong or as weak as fans believe it to be.

Episode 40 of the Doctor Who: Alhambra Podcast

In this episode of the Alhambra Podcast, the trio of Brett (@Mavic_Chen) and Liam (@djNezumi) and Legeon (@legeonhenderson) reunite and bring an enjoyable hour (or more) discussion and sci-fi silliness for the month of July 2016.

We started off the podcast with Doctor Who and Big Finish news, thanks to www.doctorwhonews.net for the up to date DW news!

In this episode of the Alhambra Podcast, we review Doctor Who: Main Range #214 A Life of Crime, written by Matt Fitton. The Fourth Doctor Adventure: #2.08 The Pursuit of History, with David Warner and Toby Hadoke reprising their roles from The Dalek Contract and The Final Phase. Next, we break down each episode from Classic Doctors, New Monsters Volume 1. Brief discussion on the Short Trips, #6.07 Blame Game, featuring Rufus Hound.  Then, we review the Doctor Who Spin-offs beginning with Torchwood: Broken, written by Joseph Lidster featuring Gareth David-Lloyd as Ianto and John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness.  Finishing off the reviews with The New Counter-Measures: Who Killed Toby Kinsella? written by John Dorney and Ken Bentley.

We finish off the podcast with random chats about Blake's 7 and baking in future Big Finish Doctor Who releases.

Congratulations to the new dad, Legeon (@legeonhenderson)!

Another BIG thanks to Big Finish for the updated Big Finish app!  It is user friendly, and just amazing!

Audio Only Review list - The Power of Kroll (to be recorded in August); finally The Daemons (to be recorded in September).  Please stay tuned for those releases, and further releases when we focus merely on the strength of the story and storytelling, and ignore the visuals.
